"Cindy" Fry

"Cindy" Fry
2000-2009

"High up in the courts of heaven today
a little dog angel waits;
With the other angels she will not play,
but she sits alone at the gates.
"For I know my master will come" says she,
"and when she comes she will call for me."

Cindy was the very first dog that was truly mine, I got her on my seventh birthday; I will never forget the ride home with her little body in my little hands. She looked up at me with those caring eyes, and I knew right then we'd be friends 'till the end. Since then we were always together, while camping, while watching movies (she thought she was a lap dog), while playing, and she even slept in the bed with me. Everybody loved Cindy, she was the perfect dog. Then after my 16th birthday I found a lump on her side. I was horrified, so I called Mr. McGraw; and we got an appointment as soon as possible.. It was bone cancer. He said it might be 3 months, but it was less than that. I got a call at school one day and I rushed home to find my best friend struggling to breathe. That day was the worst day in my 16 years. I didn't loose a dog that day, I lost my best friend.

"Jamie" Meek (an example)

Jamie
1995-2006
Gone but not forgotten
Jamie was my first dog--really my first child. I still miss her terribly and often catch myself thinking, "Jamie would sure have loved a beautiful day like today" or "Jamie would loved to have run down this trail". Jamie died after a short but courageous battle with osteosarcoma.
